“Pay urgent attention to Impermanence”

“Pay urgent attention to Impermanence and strongly turn your mind toward taking refuge.”
This teaching from Padmasambhava’s Advice to the Three Fortunate Women was the theme for our Practice Day on Saturday.
In the morning we meditated, heard talks, and reflected on teachings from Sangharakshita, Padmasambhava, Dilgo Khyentse and the Buddha. This helped us to connect more deeply with the laksana of impermanence and our desire to Go for Refuge to the Three Jewels.
In the afternoon we engaged with devotional practice through meditation, puja and the ritual re guilding of this rupa.

Interview with Vidyamala about ‘Going beyond Secular Mindfulness’

Vidyamala’s talk is based on her personal experience of using Mindfulness for the management of pain. She talks about the potential to move beyond becoming a happy healthy human being. What is the potential for the tens of thousands of people who have gone through the 8 week Mindfulness programme? How do you open the doorway to the other profound teachings of the Buddha?

This talk was given as part of a series of interviews and talks that Triratna Buddhist Community Highlands used to explore the notion of going beyond secular Mindfulness. The audience was the Sangha community and the local secular Mindfulness community.
