Belladrum 2014

Belladrum Festival 2014 just finished, and we were there, providing some quiet space and meditation in our yurt in the corner of the Walled Garden. “Quiet” in a relative sense, because we were right opposite one of the stages!

But it was a good time and a joyful fixture in our yearly calendar. Here’s a few pics:

Suriyavamsa’s Journey

Following the official opening of the newest Buddhist Centre in Scotland, Suriyavamsa (President of the Highland Buddhist Centre) set off on foot to the oldest Buddhist Centre in Scotland, via the Dava Way, the Lairig Ghru, the drove road through Glen Tilt, Dhanakosa, the Tayside Way, the West Highland Way and Sauchiehall Street. It’s his mythic journey, and you can follow him on Facebook.

Celebrating Buddha Day

Last week I was on retreat at Adhisthana, and whilst there we celebrated Buddha Day on the day of the full moon, as is traditional. For the evening puja the young women’s community currently living there along with Sanghadeva had created this beautiful flower strewn seat – a heap of grass, and neatly folded one of Sanghrakshita’s original monk’s robes and placed it on top.  We watched as the Buddha awakened.
